Escarpment 2010 Insight Series Limited Release

March 2012

Introducing the highly anticipated release of the 2010 vintage Insight Series wines by Escarpment.

With his Insight Series wines, winemaker Larry McKenna’s goal was to start defining the terroir of the Martinborough Geographic Indication with a range of single vineyard wines. The wines allow for individual vineyard expression from exceptional sites utilising some of the oldest vines in the district.

Kupe is from the Escarpment Vineyard’s close planted vineyard on Te Muna Road Martinborough. The first release was in 2003 and quickly positioned Escarpment at the vanguard of New World Pinot Noir production.

From the superb 2006 vintage, three new sites were added. Kiwa, Pahi and Te Rehua are all exemplary examples of site specific Martinborough Pinot Noir. They all possess unique site terroir which is consistent from vintage to vintage, while also presenting the hallmarks of ripe fruit, complexity and texture which has made the Martinborough Terraces famous.

The wines allow enthusiasts to explore the range and distinctive characters of each site.

The 2010 vintage wines have already been receiving rave reviews:
