Rocca delle Macìe is a young and dynamic winery which in a little over 40 years has forged a reputation throughout the wine world as one of Chianti’s most highly regarded estates.The company, founded by business partners and great friends Italo Zingerelli and Roberto Palaggi, both famous for film production, originated in 1973. The company estate now extends to more than 600 hectares with more than 200 used as vineyards and 80 as olive groves, subdivided across the company’s six estates: Le Macìe, Sant’Alfonso, Fizzano e le Tavolelle in the Chianti Classico zone.
“Rocca delle Macìe’s Chianti Classicos are the backbone of the winery,” states Sergio Zingarelli, “and we are great believers in this denomination and so we have always invested considerable energy and resources into ensuring that our wines tap the full potential of a terroir that is unlike any other.”
Rocca delle Macie has been selected by Wine Spectator as one of the 100 Best Wineries in Italy.
