New Zealand - Kumeu

The everyday drinking range from Kumeu River take their name from the Village wines of France and have been hand harvested, using only indigenous yeast for fermentation and are made from grapes de-classified from the world renowned Kumeu River range.

The Kumeu Village Chardonnay is fast gaining endorsement in its own right. The influential US magazine Wine Spectator rated the 2004 Kumeu Village Chardonnay at 91/100 and the 2005 vintage went on to score 90/100 from wine writer Robert Whitley in www.winereviewonline.com. More recently Kumeu’s Village Chardonnay 2007 was awarded 91 points in The Wine News.

This is an extraordinary feat for a “second” wine and adds weight to the argument that this could be New Zealand’s best value Chardonnay on the market.
